1. As a student, how did information technology and computer devices affect your daily activities?
It is extremely helpful because it makes our work a lot more easier than it should. It saves our time for our troubles. And it also helps us find something we need like information about things we are searching through the internet. It also serves entertainment from various kind of sites. Computer Devices also helps us with security measures like CCTV for monitoring purposes.
2. What are computing devices that are specifically designed for your field of study? Write a brief description. Give at least 3.
- Laptop - it is portable and it's like a smaller version of a PC unit and it's good enough for a student to make reports/presentation etc.
- PC - although it's not portable, it is still the best way to do your works for it has a bigger memory for different kinds of presentations.
- USB - for transferring files from one unit to another (without LAN Access)
3. Which would you rather have—a netbook or a tablet computer? Why?
I would rather have a Netbook than a tablet computer for it is more comfortable for me to use than a tablet computer. Netbook has a keypad, therefore it is easier to use than a tablet computer for typing. A netbook like a PC unit or Laptop, can also be inserted by USB devices such as mouse, keyboard (for a better typing experience), printer and more. A tablet computer is pretty much designed for entertaining purposes or internet browsing like facebook, twitter and more. But for utility use, it is better to have a Netbook than a Tablet Computer.
4. If cost were not an issue, describe the characteristics of your ideal computer. What would you use it for?
I would probably use it for Editting or Gaming purposes. Most high-end Personal Computers are made for
better gaming experience. Because nowadays, most games that are released requires high performance PCs than can endure long process gaming and for better graphics. As time passes, so as technology. Advancing Gaming System also needs Advanced Computer Devices to do their best performance.
5. Why do you think that a computer course (subject) is required in every programs (courses) in higher education (college)?
Technology is everywhere. Most things that we do today has to do with computers. Most jobs today requires computer experience for at least basic. So it is a need to learn about computer by including computer subjects in most courses in college.
6. Have you encountered a difficulty in using computers? Write your experience. What intervention you did to solve that problem?
I had a difficulty with my computer. It was about downloading or uploading stuff from or to the internet. The first thing I did was to search on "how to download". Then browsed different kinds of website to see how do they do it. And I asked different people I know to know their methods of doing it. Then I tried it 1 by 1 until I realized what's the best method of doing it by comparing their methods. And that's how I managed to solve my downloading problems. I learned uploading by realizing what's the opposite of the word download.
